I am a Brooklyn-based doula supporting families through pregnancy, birth, and the early postpartum period. My work centers on education, emotional support, and helping parents feel informed and confident in their choices.

Drawing from both professional training and personal experience, I offer thoughtful, relationship-based care tailored to each family's unique needs. I believe that preparation, support, and community can make all the difference during the transition into parenthood.

Values

I believe parents and children belong together in society and I enthusiastically include my own children in my work when I can, especially my infant who often accompanies me to visits.

My Story

With a background in art and textile design, I came to doula work through a deeply personal experience — the care I received from my own doulas and midwives during the birth of my first child in 2022.  I was cared for by home birth midwives, and that level of care is above and beyond what most typically receive in the perinatal period. Home birth may not be for every person or every pregnancy, however I believe everyone DOES deserve to be given clear and factual information about their bodies, to feel understood, to have time to give informed consent and not be rushed or coerced out of fear, to receive nonjudgemental support, and to receive personalized, followup care in their own homes, which is why I became a doula. I am lucky to be able to bring my own sensitivity, creativity and mindfulness to this important work.

My approach is also shaped by my own postpartum experience, which included both profound love and significant challenges. I navigated mental health shifts during that time, as well as a difficult transition back to work, and finding informed, compassionate support made an enormous difference in my ability to eventually thrive. Around this period, I also received an ADHD diagnosis, which has helped me better understand my own nervous system, needs, and postpartum experience. The difficult parts as well as the beautiful ones I experienced during this birth and postpartum allow me to bring a lot of knowledge, compassion and understanding to my clients today.

Because of this, I am especially drawn to offering care that is clear, structured, and easy to follow. I create resources and guidance that are designed to feel grounding rather than overwhelming, especially in the early weeks of postpartum life when everything can feel new and intense. My guiding mantra is to unburden the birth giver.

I also hold a deep sense of reverence for the postpartum period. I find the early bonding between parent and baby to be both ordinary and extraordinary at the same time — a quiet transformation that deserves protection, support, and gentleness.

Birth itself, is something I understand as powerful and ultimately unpredictable. We cannot control how labor unfolds, but we can prepare thoughtfully — by choosing our support team carefully, learning what to expect, and strengthening our sense of trust in our bodies and decision-making. I strongly value informed consent, bodily autonomy, and the right to feel both prepared and supported without pressure.

My Background

My worldview has been shaped by living across cultures and communities. I grew up in an Iranian-American family in North Carolina, studied abroad in Argentina, lived as an au pair in France, and now live in New York City with my French spouse and our children. These experiences have made me comfortable with difference, adaptation, and the many ways families can look and live. I do not believe there is one correct way to parent or birth — only what feels aligned for each family. There is a lot of inspiration available to us from around the world.

I currently live in Brooklyn, where I spend time with my family exploring parks, moving my body through yoga and biking, making art, and staying close to the creative practices that continue to shape who I am.

Let’s take the first step towards a mindful birth and postpartum experience together.
